TREE STAKE WEBBING
SUPPORTS NURSERY-GROWN AND TRANSPLANTED TREES
July 21, 2005
A new, low-cost webbing for staking and guying newly planted trees with small root balls or systems, especially at a site exposed to high winds,
is being introduced by Nelco Products, Inc. of Pembroke, Massachusetts.
Nelco TreeTies™ are used for staking and guying newly planted trees that require additional support to grow upright and strong. Fast and simple
to install, these staking ties are made from a soft, ¾” wide rounded-edge woven polypropylene webbing that can be cut and tied-off in a fashion that permits growth while protecting young trees from high winds and weather.
Providing the support needed to stabilize the root collar until a root system develops to adequately support the tree, Nelco TreeTies™ promote trunk strength and prevent girdling. Unlike rigid plastic collar staking systems, no adjustment is required as the tree grows. UV stabilized and weather-resistant, this olive-green color webbing blends with nature.
Nelco TreeTies™ are priced from $0.05 per ft., depending upon quantity and are supplied on 250-, 500-, and 3,000 ft. rolls. Samples and pricing are available upon request.
